AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK
Located in the east of Rwanda, Akagera national park covers over 2500 sq.km of Savannah west of the Kagera River. In it is the Akagera River that is the natural border of Rwanda and Tanzania.
The park is a habitat to a variety of savannah wildlife and over 525 avian species . Akagera has a natural diversity of Savannah, lakes, swamps, woodland, and open grassland. The lakes harbor herds of elephant and buffalo whereas the savannah usually attracts giraffe and zebra. The park is home to lions, leopard, hyena and several species of antelopes that include the bushbucks and water bucks. Close to the lake are large pods of hippopotami as well as gloomy crocodiles sun bathing. The avian species comprise of the rare shoebill stork, the majestic eagles, the papyrus gonolek and a large meditation of water birds,

Day1: KIGALI – AKAGERA NP – 120Km – 2 and 30 minutes drive
On arrival at Kigali airport in Rwanda, you will be welcomed by a tours representative from AA safaris and tours . Later transfer to Kigali which is the capital city of Rwanda for city tour. Take a tour to the Kigali Memorial Centre beautifully built where over 250,000 people are buried. The Centre is an enduring monument to those who fell victims to the genocide and those who lost their beloved relatives. Have lunch and then proceed to Akagera National Park. Dinner and Overnight at:

Day2: Game drive and boat ride along Akagera
Take a cup of tea and then go for an early morning game drive before the sunrise. The game drive in the park is taken early in order to find the early risers before they go back inside the bushes. You will search for zebras, elephants, giraffes, antelopes like the diminutive oribi, the handsome Chestnut Coated impala, the shy bushbuck, buffalo, a leopard, a warthog, a spotted hyena and if you are lucky, the astray lion. Return to the lodge for mid morning breakfast and lunch . Later , go for a boat ride laing Lake Ihema . The boat ride will expose you to animals like the Hippos, crocodiles, the water birds and some animals on the shores that come along to take water. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge of your budget
Day3: Back to Kigali
Take breakfast and then later transfer to Kigali . Visit the communities along the way and later transfer to the airport . If you missed the city tour in Kigali , you may use the time you have to take a city tour before you proceed to The airport for your next flight back home.
