Gorilla Safari Lodge is an up  scale  accommodation  popped  away at the boundary line of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest – home of the endangered mountain gorilla  but the most ideal lodge for those tracking the gorillas of Nshongi Family – the one with the biggest number of gorillas in Bwindi ever habituated

 

It is quietly placed  nearer to the starting point of  Nshongi group of Gorillas.

Gorilla safari lodge has eight en suite spacious luxurious cottages and each of them is beautifully deliberate with a verandah which  allows  exceptional outlooks of the immaculate tropical rain forest. All bathrooms have hot and cold running water and flush toilets.

The lodge is dissected in a way that the main lodge also includes a Restaurant, Bar, lounge and campfire overlooking the tropical Rain Forest.

While at Gorilla safari lodge ,  you will feel  as though you are atop the world from your first gawk transversely the scenery that  is simply awe inspiring .

 

Getting There

 

By Air:  You can take a Charter Flight from Entebbe  airport or Kajjansi  airstrip to Kisoro from where you  can be picked for a road transfer to the lodge.

By Road: Travel from Kampala, crossing the Equator, through Mbarara to Kabale  to Southern Bwindi past Muko to Nshongi.

Gorilla Safari Lodge  is  made up  of 8 units whereby two  are  double-roomed family units for people traveling together or in families .

The subtly repaired and magnificently selected cottages have a breathtaking venue to calm down and relax. Each room  is en suite  with  a bathroom with hot and cold water, and lightened by  solar power  with a comfortable fireplace.

 

The lodge is managed  by its very owners who  are locals and mainly focus on  quality service, good food and excellence .

NOTE ABOUT Gorilla Tracking

All clients coming to this lodge are advised to book their gorilla  permits atleast 9 months in advance before they stay here. To track gorillas  in Bwindi , each one  must have the day’s gorilla permit which needs to be pre- arranged and paid for atleast 9-12 months in advance. Permits are non-refundable except for medical reasons and a medical certificate has to be provided to the responsible authorities before any refunds are processed. To protect gorillas from  catching disease and to avoid problems of arduous conditions in the forests young trackers below the age of 15 and those with illnesses are not allowed tracking. A gorilla permit costs USD500. Though the lodge  is at the starting point of Nshongi  gorilla tracking family , no one is allowed to enter or do a gorilla trek  unless they have the necessary  gorilla permits for the day  and  gorilla tracking must be done with  only UWA rangers in its designated time. It only starts at 08 am and any one starting it later than 8am does it at their own risk.
