RDB gets a new boss

Following four years of service and at the helm of the Rwanda Development Board’s Tourism and Conservation Department, Ms. Rica Rwigamba has left the organization and let Ambassador Karitanyi take over since last Friday. She has been trusted by the Rwandan cabinet to take over this critical position and manage it efficiently.

Ms. Yamina Karitanyi has been serving as Rwanda’s High Commissioner to the Republic of Kenya. This latest change has come after a similar change was made in Uganda where an orderly transition took place a few weeks ago when former UTB CEO Cuthbert Baguma retired and then an entirely new team was put in place at the beginning of March to run UTB and the case is the same in Tanzania where the CEO of TTB was unceremoniously sacked last week yet to be replaced.

Despite that fact that Ms. Karitanyi is new to tourism and conservation, she has a strong team to support her integration into the RDB Tourism and Conservation Department and her very first major public benchmark event will be at this year’s 10th edition of Kwita Izina to be held on 21st June. It will be her welcome party as well and all the best for the challenges ahead.

A lot is expected due to the fact that she has been excelling and RDB has had excellent cooperation over the past four years under Ms. Rwigamba it is only appropriate to thank Rica at this stage and wish her well in her future endeavors. This will also be done on this same day.
