The beauty of Nyungwe National park

Nyungwe national park is Rwanda’s most beautiful parks with variety of attractions like the bird species, great vegetation cover and hiking is one of the major activities done in the park. During the hiking exercise, you will enjoy bird watching, primates watching especially the monkeys. The hike can be arranged by any of the three tourists information centers which are under RDB as well as provide the guide but also, tour operators can organized on request.

You hike in Cyamundongo forest or can take other walking option at the Kitabi and Gisakura centre. However the Uwinka Viistor centre is a one great starting point and during the exploration, you will see the different species of flora and fauna in the park, there are also a number of waterfalls with different clear viewing points, there are camping sites where you cam rest and have a meal and within the park is also an orchid garden as well as picnic huts.

The forest walk takes between 1-8 hours meanwhile hiking takes about 3-4 day and overnight. There are news trails to follow along which are campsites that have been setup as a way of making the park more enjoyable for the tourists. In additional to hiking and forest walks, cultural tourism are being developed at the perimeter of the park and very soon it will be attracting thousand of tourists from different parts of the world.
