TANZANIA RANKED THE HIGHEST TOURIST DESTINATION IN AFRICA

Tanzania has been chosen the 7th among the 45 places tourists should visit in 2012 because it has turned into a fashionable safari destination which is a very important thing.

The Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) managing director, Dr Aloyce Nzuki, said they have a number of policies arranged to make Tanzania the best destination to be visited. The tourists increased because Kenya the neighboring country had been attacked by Al-Shabaab.

Apart from Kenya’s troubles, Kenya has a number of attractions like Mount Kilimanjaro, Ngorongoro crater area the best destination for big game watching, Gibb’s Farm a small lodge from where the guests can trek to the Ngorongoro crater area.

Tanzania has also opened reserves like Singita Grumeti next to the Serengeti plains and luxury camps run by Nomad Tanzania.

Other countries that have been selected in Africa include Uganda and Morocco .According to the New York Times, Uganda was off the African safari tour map during the reign of Idd Amin in 1970s but after 10 years, the country has gained its attraction for tourists because of the relative stability.

Apart from the twin bombing in Kampala that happened during the 2010 world cup finals, opposition towards the gay people and the street conflights during the political protests in 2011, Uganda has been considered one of the stable countries in sub-saharan Africa.

Uganda  has been the most known  to tourists as a home of half of the world’s rare mountain gorillas .two gorilla groups have been opened to tourists in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest a Unesco World Heritage site in southwest Uganda.

Apart from the gorillas, Uganda has the source of the Nile, Rwenzori Mountains and offers activities like rafting and Kayaking.
