The Nyungwe forest national park

Nyungwe was last years listed among the world’s top ‘must visit’ parks by the National Geographic Traveler, an international travel magazine found in UK. According to that magazine, Nyungwe is one of Africa most intact mountain rain forests and it is praised for its size and diversity.

Nyungwe National Park chief park warden Louis Rugerinyange said that the park was chosen most likely because in the past years there were a number of writers from all over the world who had had tours and praised Nyungwe National Park.  This kind of achievement is expected to fuel an increase in the number of tourists expected this and the next coming years.

Nyungwe was gazetted as a national park in 2005 and it is one place that clearly illustrates Rwanda’s natural beauty and then has it bring in tourist dollars that benefit surrounding communities through profit sharing. Communities around the park also benefit from the park through selling crafts in the cultural villages and the government also earns revenue from cultural tourism thus the reason it is promoting it. Rwanda is blessed with a rich culture and can be a great attraction to many people from allover the world.
