AVIATION ACCIDENTS INCREASE IN TANZANIA DUE TO UNSKILLED PILOTS

The local airline industry in Tanzania has been employing unskilled pilots therefore leading to grave disasters in the countries skies.

The ministry of transport has recorded three out of the 12 aircraft accidents that happened in 2011 because of the unskilled pilots.

Pilots in the country have been allowed to speculate into the skies no matter the number of challenges including operational guidelines and obvious disregard to safety.

According to the reports from the deputy chief inspector of air accidents, Mr. J. Nyamwihura, 2011 has been the safest in the last five years and the cause of accidents by the unskilled personnel was surprising.

The act of unqualified pilots has increased and main reason for the accidents has been the reduction of pilots in the aviation industry. The shortage is in Rwanda,Uganda and other countries  but Tanzania has not trained pilots for 20 years.
