Birding in Nyungwe national park

Nyungwe forest park is found with the Albertine Rift valley eco-region and its very popular for its different types of vegetation cover and also being a home to so many species compared to other parks in Africa among which are the different types of birds. Nyungwe is a home to over 310 bird species.

However, because of the fact that the forest is very dense, it can be very difficult to see the birds and most them also prefer to stay on top at the canopy rather than in side the forest.  If you’re on a birding safari, your guide will help you identify the different birds that you may see during the walk in the forest and along the different spots that they know birds are commonly seen for example at the Bigugu mountain, taking the canopy walk way where you have a clear view of the canopy there have a chance to see a many as possible on top of the trees. There are also sites like the Karamba area close to gisakura, the Kamiranzovu Swamp, the Gisakura tea estate, among others sites.

You can always expect to have quality time as you will not only see the birds but also other wildlife, tree species, among other attraction thus making your trip worthwhile. Birding just like in all the other east African countries, it has become a great tourists activities yielding a lot of monkey because unlike some other safaris where you can even fly to a destination to see whatever you want to see say gorillas in just 1 day, a birding tour requires a tourists spend more days in a country and therefore spending the more.
