Rwanda air’s new Accra flights open up more opportunities

Rwanda’s national airline Rwanda air not so long ago officially opened its flight route from Kigali to Accra in Ghana passing through Lagos Nigeria and the development has lead into more benefits for the country as it has resulted in the opening of a Ghanaian consulate in Kigali which will definitely strengthen the diplomatic relationship and thus make it easy for the Rwandans to get visas to Ghana and the reverse will be true.

Before, people from Rwanda have had to travel all the way to Kenya just to apply for Visa at the Ghanaian embassy there but this kind of stress and costs have been eliminated after the launch of a Consulate in Kigali. This will also save people the time they spend trying to obtain a mere visa to travel to Accra.

Its time that the rest of the African countries, to copy Rwandan government’s decision to grant Visa on arrival to citizens from all member countries of the African Union because this idea has enabled Rwanda Air to establish roots across Africa, now neither transit Visas are now needed and those want to stay over in Rwanda for a few days, can get their Visa at the immigration counter immediately.

Dennis Karera who is the Ghana’s Consul in Rwanda will definitely be a busy man to sign Visa approvals for his fellow Rwandans now that his offices are ready to start doing their job and in this case, Rwanda Air will benefit from this understanding as travelers can now book their flight with them and get their Visa approved on the same day and are good to go. This will also increase on the tourists from Ghana as there will always be a ready direct flight which will make movement easier. Rwanda is one of the greatest tourism destinations in East Africa especially since you get an opportunity to see the popular mountain gorillas, you can expect to witness development of tourism as well.
