Visit the Nyungwe forest

Nyungwe Forest is a home to thousands of primates, birds, butterflies, tree species, among other attractions.  While there, you can spend some time at places like the Nyungwe forest lodge which is one of the best accommodation facilities that you can find in Nyungwe Forest National Park which is located in the south-western Rwanda. This lodge has been named among 10 tourist destinations that you can visit when in Rwanda.  This is according to the rating of the CNN’s 2015 Safari Awards and was nominated by over 4,000 travel agents, writers and operators from all over the world.

A statement from the American Cable News Network reveals that the Nyungwe Forest Lodge was voted because it offers the opportunity to see the world’s most elusive creatures and plants’ that occupy the ancient forests and mountains from around it. You can see orchids and 13 primate species which include the chimpanzees, over 200 tree specie. In the forest are walking trails and you can do animal treks. You can search for the black and white colobus monkeys, gray-cheeked Mangabey and bird-watching at the Kamiranzovu Water falls, among other activities.

Besides Nyungwe Forest Lodge, nine other travel destinations were also recognised, including Norman Carr Walking Safari in Zambia, Goliath Safaris Luxury Tented Camp in Zimbabwe, Samode Safari Lodge in India, Tongole Wilderness Lodge in Malawi, South Africa’s Leopard Hills, and Pumba Private Game Reserve & Spa, Fundu Lagoon in Tanzania, Karisia Walking Safaris in Kenya, and Botswana’s African Horseback Safaris.
