HERITAGE MINISTER SUPPORTS ELECTRONIC SYSTEM AT MARA GATES

The Heritage minister William Ole Ntimama has supported the electronic system that has been put at Masai Mara game reserve gates for collecting revenue because it will reduce corruption during the process.

He said those in charge of the demonstrations that have been taking place at the gates of the park should be arrested because machines have been destroyed like the solar panels worth  sh28 million that had been installed by Equity bank.

The electronic system has been supported by the residents because they think the agreement between Narok County Council and Equity Bank has not been clear. The minister said those that have not agreed with the system are those that earn from the revenue collected from the tourists at the expense of the locals.

He has told the communities to hold on for the parliamentary committee to give their views about the system instead of demonstrating against it.
