MOTORISTS WARNED ON ROAD SAFETY DURING CHRISTMAS

The assistant minister for roads Lee Kinyanjui has warned the passengers and motorists to take full responsibility during the festive season because it is a period where   drivers are more careless. The traffic police, city Council of Nairobi and Kenya Urban Roads Authority set up a road safety operation with an aim of letting the motorists and pedestrians know the proper use of roads during the festive season.

The operation will run for 14 days in Nairobi in places like Nairobi West shopping centre, Buruburu shopping centre, Waiyaki Way, Ngara bus station,, Railways terminals, Machakos country bus,  and other areas  where KURA, traffic police and city council of Nairobi will hold public education meeting on safe road use.

During the meeting, people will be taught the use of seat belts, use of designated areas for picking and dropping passengers, noise pollution, maintainance of seat belts, pedestrian crossing, passenger responsibility in vehicle road safety, alcoblow sensitization and observation of legal maximum driving hours.
