NAIROBI NP TO GET MORE ARCES OF LAND FROM THE KEEN FAMILY

Nairobi National Park has expanded by 100 hectares of land because John Keen and his family want Kenya Wildlife Service can control, manage and administer their inherited land as part of the park.

The park has been shortened in with important migration routes across the Athi plains leaving the important DNA exchange through migratory arrivals to endure.

The Keen family will maintain ownership of the land the easement now restricts them completely from using the land so that wildlife conservation can be the number one concern and any industrial, agricultural, large scale developments are now excluded.

According to KWS source around Samvburu, Amboseli, in the Tana Delta, along the Kerio Valley NP and the Loita Plains where people owning land are having talks to give it away.
