Visit the Nyungwe forest park

The Nyungwe national park is located in the southwest part of Rwanda covering over 970 km and it is the biggest covered with montane rainforest  and a home to variety of primates including chimpanzees, black and white colobus, mangabey, L’hoests monkeys, among others. There are also unique plant species, over 100 orchids, 120 butterfly species, and 275endangered bird species thus making it a suitable destination for those that love birding. There are different activities that you cab get involved in when you visit Nyungwe forest and these include the most common which is;

Chimpanzee tracking

This is the commonest tourism activity because Nyungwe National Park is apparently the only place in the world where you can find more than five primate species like the Chimpanzee and Mountain monkeys, the Angolan black as well as the while colobus monkeys and this makes Nyungwe one of the greatest places that can be very useful in the boast of a unique phenomenon in primate tourism because of it has a high population of habituated primates ranging from 400 to 500 of them in just one group. This makes the adventure very exciting.

Primates walk

Primates walk involves talking a nature walk into the forest to search for primates in the jungle. You can expect to see more than primates but also other attractions like bird species, tree species, among others.

Bird watching in Nyungwe

For the bird lovers, Nyungwe National Park is the best place to visit in Rwanda as it is blessed with so many bird species if compared to any other protected area found in the Albertine Rift. And so provide you will get an opportunity to see more species especially those whose range is restricted to the mountain forests of the Albertine Rift which are about  27 of them out of the

280 bird species in the park. Those restricted to the Albertine Rift include birds like the great blue turaco an outlandish blue, red and green bird thus making the greatest place for birding.

Forest Walk

The best thing about Nyungwe National Park is that has also got a well maintained and rare network of nature walkways developed to enable tourists to view unique rainforest features and experiences. These walkways meander the gentle hills of the park accessing various attractions such as waterfalls and interesting over-the-canopy views.

Canopy walk

This park has a greatest canopy walk and also water falls hikes are done. There are various hike trails that you can follow along with your ranger guide. This is very interesting.
